Colophon
Built and maintained by RoamingPigs. The five sites under Shipped were built here.
Type
Text and headings are set in Hanken Grotesk, a variable font. Dates, hashes and code are set in IBM Plex Mono. Both are self-hosted, unmodified Latin files from the Fontsource packages, under the SIL Open Font License 1.1. The licence texts sit beside the files: Hanken Grotesk and IBM Plex Mono.
Each font has a fallback with its width and line metrics matched to Arial or Courier New, so the swap does not move the page. The figures were measured from the font files: Hanken at weight 400 is 0.46698 em wide on average over a Latin sample, Arial is 0.46355, so the size adjustment is 100.74%. The sample is a small hand-made string, so treat the figures as close, not exact.
Colour
The palette was derived in OKLCH and the text shade of the accent was darkened until it measured 4.5:1 or better on the ground. A dark scheme follows the system setting and was measured the same way. The full contrast table is in the repository notes.
| Token | Hex | OKLCH | Use |
|---|---|---|---|

| Accent, text | #c43100 | oklch(0.54 0.20 35) | links and text, 5.07:1 on ground |
| Accent, bright | #ec4f27 | oklch(0.64 0.20 35) | large marks and UI only, 3.36:1 on ground |

Motion
There is one moment of motion: when you move between pages the rail on the left stays still while the page content changes, using a cross-document view transition. It only runs in browsers that support it and only when reduced motion is not requested. Without it, pages load as normal.
What was checked
Run on 2026-10-13 against a local static server, not production.
- The Headers check logic has 20 node tests written from hand-made cases, including broken input. The site's own headers file passes all nine rules.
- Every internal link, asset path and fragment resolves, and each page has one main heading and a title of 60 characters or fewer.
- Contrast was measured for every text and background pair in both schemes, 0 failures. The table is generated by a script from the CSS values.
- Pages were rendered in headless Chrome at 375, 768 and 1280 pixels, with the viewport set through the DevTools protocol, and looked at. Layout also held at 320 pixels with no sideways scroll.
- Zero console errors on any page. Layout shift read 0 on a local server, which proves little about a slow network.
- Each page is under 40 KB of HTML, CSS and script together, excluding fonts and images.
- The page works with scripts off: only the Headers check panel is hidden, and the rules stay listed.
- A print render of the log was read: the chrome is dropped and the dates, hashes and counts stay.
What was not checked
Nothing here has been seen on the production address, because the site is not deployed. Screen readers were not run. Safari and Firefox were not used for any render. The commit hashes in the log are those of private repositories, so a reader cannot follow them.
Tools, in general terms
Hand-written HTML and CSS, a small Python script that reads each repository and writes the pages, Node for the tests, and a real browser for rendering and measuring. No framework, no build pipeline, no third-party code on the page.
